Don't come to Panajachel without housing!
As a participant in CMWC, you are responsible for arranging your own housing.
Hotels can vary in price from as little as $10 USD / night to as much as $150 USD / night. They also vary greatly as far as amenities, such as shared vs. private showers, wireless internet, TV, and quality.
As of June 12, 2010, the exchange rate in to Guatemalan Quetzales is:
1 GBP = 11.66 GTQ, 1 Euro = 9.66 GTQ, 100 JPY = 8.75 GTQ, 1 USD = 8.01 GTQ, 1 CAD = 7.76 GTQ, 100 HUF = 3.45 GTQ
In February of 2010, the CMWC organizers met with the local municipality, and the hotel association in Pana and from that have created this list of possible hotels for you. You are not bound to this list, and are encouraged to do your own search. There are many great hotels in Panajachel. Anything in Panjachel is walking distance from all of the CMWC action. The other towns around Lago Atitlan may require a boat ride to get into Panajachel, but are a lot of fun for the more adventurous, or maybe for a day or two outside of competition.
