Shipping A Bike
Submitted by chrisbottles on Sun, 12/27/2009 - 20:50
Does anyone have any experience doing this? Will there be an address we can ship a bike to? I'm looking to fly in to Mexico City and then travelling south from there without dragging my bike along with me.

Shipping Bikes
I guess it might be cheaper if you ship several bikes together ...I don't know how many people will be travelling from Montreal, but for me $500 plus plane fare is a bit expensive for my trip. ... Don't get me wrong. I'm going, just got to figure out how to make this affordable ... You guys got better shipping rates from NYC or Boston? ... They got any decent bikes for sale in Guatemala? ... %$#%$# airlines. It's a bike not a Bomb! ... ... Chuck

I bused it to Guatemala from DF/Mexico Citywithout bike and back to Mexico City with my bikea few years back so if you want any hints send me a line.
shipping info to come...
shipping to panajachel can be expensive and can take time, as much as 2-4 weeks for a bike. but of course, you are judging it against the rising cost of flying with your bike. in guatemala, you can count on a couple of extra Q's to travel with your bike on the shuttles but nothing major. likewise, you can count on a couple of extra days to ship all the way to pana. we will have a ship-to address in guatemala beginning around july-ish where we can receive your bike for you safely. a quick look at costs puts it between $100-$300 USD each way. we will eventually list all of the options here as we come up with specifics.
